In the Eric Hayden case, Amido Black was used to enhance ridge detail in a palm print found in blood on a bed sheet. This process emphasized ridge detail but stained the fabric blue (top). Digital enhancement of the palm print suppressed the fabric background and improved image contrast (bottom).
